Damage, flooding as storms lash Ontario

June 25, 2017

THE WEATHER NETWORK–People across southern Ontario are once again cleaning up after strong storms pounded the region late Thursday into early Friday.

Aside from damage to homes and trees, the storms delivered torrential downpours, exceeding 100 mm for some communities, with Mount Forest picking up 158 mm over just a few hours.

All that rain has triggered severe flooding, and states of emergencies have been declared in the Township of Mapletown, and Harriston in the Town of Minto, and conservation authorities have been warning people that water levels remain high.
